Two Perspectives for Considering Traffic
- Traffic Maximization. Finds the maximal demand that a
network can support considering its transport supply (1). Traffic
maximization concerns engineers especially for simulations of maximal
capacity of a transport system. It is also important to the planning
of new transport systems. Traffic maximization establishes the operational
capacity of networks, that is what amount of traffic they can handle
under specific conditions.
- Costs Minimization. Affects a demand at minimal costs
considering the transport supply (2). It concerns operators of transport
systems for the management of their networks, since they are concerned
about how a service can be offered, and this at a minimal cost.
