The world 15 largest airports each handle a traffic of over 40 million passengers per year. There are signs that several of largest airports have reached their market potential with traffic stabilizing or even declining, such as for Chicago, Tokyo-Haneda and Dallas-Ft. Worth. The largest absolute growth has been observed in Beijing with the traffic tripling between 2000 and 2010; the airport now ranks as the world's second largest.
